BIO

Wendy Piret, BS US Naval Academy ‘93, was an Active Duty Naval Officer for 8 years before resigning her commission in 2001 and transitioning to the reserves. She is now a Movement Education Specialist with 17 years of experience in private practice, 14 years guiding children in creative movement education classes, and the last 10 years teaching Brain Gym® and Move with Me Yoga Adventures workshops and seminars both privately and regionally for public and private school systems, Family Advocacy Programs, and other organizations. Licensed Brain Gym® In-structor, certified Yoga Ed., MovNat, and Les Mills Body Combat Instructor, and a craniosacral practitioner specializing in pediatrics. Awarded the 2011 Outstanding Achievement Award from Brain Gym International in recognition of her success and accomplishments teaching and presenting in the New Orleans Region.
In 2010 Wendy Piret and her business partner, Liz Bragdon, partnered with Leah Kalish and Move with Me Yoga Adventures to produce a social emotional learning and creative movement DVD series for children age 3-8 years. Together, they choreographed the award winning 9 story series "Scooter & Me" written by Wendy and Liz. In spring 2011, the “Scooter & Me” DVD series received: A Parent’s Choice Approval, Creative Child Magazine’s 2011 DVD of the Year Award (Exercise & Movement Category), NAPPA ‘s Gold Award and the People’s Silver Telly Award (their highest honor). “Scooter & Me” also won 3rd place in the Reader’s Favorite Awards, Audio/Visual Category for “Baby and Children’s Product News” Magazine. In August 2013, an accompanying 30-week Movement and Mindfulness Curriculum was published and is used nation-wide in early education environments. In August 2017, the first international training was held in Seoul South Korea at Army Service Center (ACS) Yongsan in support of their Family Advocacy Program (FAP).
