The Educational Kinesiology Foundation (EKF) was founded in 1987, and is dedicated to:

Celebrating each individual’s unique learning style
Creating and promoting educational and wellness programs designed to increase human potential, reduce stress, and address learning challenges
Providing resources to the public via outreach and dissemination of information related to our programs
Collaborating with other organizations whose missions are in alignment with and/or complementary to ours.

Life is filled with experiences that challenge us, change us, and help us grow. Understanding the valuable information our bodies hold for us in every moment, and having effective tools to respond to that information, is critical to enhanced performance and overall well-being.

Our mission is to transform lives through kinesiology-based programs, fostering the ability to thrive amidst life’s changes.

Core Values

  • Integrity
  • Innovation
  • Inclusion

In 1987, Paul and Gail Dennison founded the Educational Kinesiology Foundation (EKF), along with a small group of fellow educators dedicated to making self-initiated learning available to children and adults. EKF is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization originally based in Ventura, California, which is now located in Santa Barbara, California.

In 2012, the Board of Directors voted to expand the organization’s purpose. Their vision to create an umbrella organization for kinesiology programs resulted in a revised purpose statement, a new mission statement and core values, as well as the adoption of a new fictitious business name, Breakthroughs International.

Breakthroughs International encompasses a wide range of approaches and non-invasive interventions, all of which share the understanding that the body has the capacity to correct itself. Using inquiry-based models as well as a unique understanding of body mechanics, our programs help people attain optimal levels of performance and success in all aspects of life

Kinesiology programs play a vital role in many areas of personal and professional development. We welcome opportunities to share the benefits of our programs with you.
